As a Private Music Instructor, Emily brings her enthusiasm, compassion, and expertise to the studio to challenge and inspire her students.  Her experiences in music have deeply enriched her life, and she hopes to spark this same kind of enrichment for students.

From a technical standpoint, her objective is to guide students toward heightened personal expression and artistry in their singing and playing.

This is best accomplished by expanding a student's technical tool box, so that when it comes time to let loose and express, the student is prepared.

Vocally healthy singing techniques are at the core of Emily's vocal teaching method. Emily is an singer-actor, and believes that connecting with the character and text of a song is just as important as singing with proper technique.  In voice lessons, She also frequently spends time working on acting through song, and textual expression.

During typical circumstances, Emily teaches lessons in the South Hills of Pittsburgh, and in Shadyside.  She occasionally teaches lessons in student homes on a case by case basis.
